Kevin

I just spoke to Cousin Johnnie and I received an e-mail from Liz. Kevin went home Thursday.
As it turns out, he had six broken ribs in back. He is healing well, his main pain is from the fracture to his head. The pain to his head is getting less, but still very sensative to noise. He says he feeling better and wants to get on with life and looking forward to going back to work.

Johnnie and Maryann want to thank the family for all their concern and for their prayers. Johnnie said that Kevin was surely blessed to come out of this one.

Kevin Castro

I wanted to let you all know how Kevin is doing. As of an hour ago, he has been in rehab. All his vital signs are great. The only real problem he has is his head which is is not doing well. We are hoping that the new meds will help and heal this problem.

We cannot not thank you all enough for your love and prayers. How lucky we are to have a family like we do. Words cannot express our feelings.

Bob got how Kevin fell correctly. I look at the area and can't believe what he did. We do thank God for his life. A 75 foot roll and a 6 foot drop to the concrete is hard to put into perspective.

Thank you again for all your letters, cards and phone calls.

Love you all,

John & Mary Ann

Kevin Castro Accident

I just received a call from cousin Johnnie Castro and Maryann. Their son Kevin had an accident Thursday night and is in the hospital in intensive care. John and Maryann asked if I would post this on the blog and ask for everyone's prayers.

As I understand what happened and I am not positive I got it right. As most of you know, Kevin is one of the producer's and editor's of the Jay Leno Show. Thursday night, he and a friend were writting some script at Kevin's home in LosAngeles on the patio. Kevin told his friend he was tired and was going in to take a shower. Beyond where they were sitting it was dark to walk back to the house. His house sits on the very top of a hill. As he walked back to the house he tripped and slid down ice-plant covered area, just missed a pole, went through an open gait, fell over a six foot wall and tumbled down a hundred feet.

He broke a number of ribs, plus scratches, etc., but more important he fractured his head and had blood on the brain. He could have ended up a parapalegic. He was blessed by God and as of today is still in intensive care, but the Doctors say he should fully recover with no lasting effects. And that is what John and Maryann ask the family to pray for.

As I hear more, I will keep you posted. John and Maryann are at his house in L.A. and will remain there a while.
